EUDR Update

Published in Uncategorized 22 October 2025

Yesterday, the European Commission published an official proposal to simplify the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) and extend the implementation timelines for smaller businesses.

It’s important to note that this is a proposal only, it is not yet legally binding. The proposal may still be amended by the European Parliament and the Council before becoming law, so the final regulation could differ.

Some of the key points outlined in the proposal include:
·      Large and medium-sized companies would need to comply with the EUDR from December 2025, with a six-month grace period for enforcement and checks.
·      Small and micro enterprises would have their obligations postponed by a further six months, until December 2026.
·      Additional simplifications to reduce administrative burden.

WBS remains fully committed to meeting the current December 2025 deadline and is continuing to work closely with suppliers and our customers to ensure full compliance with the regulation.
